Ailis Ni Riain (born 1974) - 2 Steep 4 Sheep (some hills are)

This piece, which is for harpsichord and pre-recorded CD, was composed in 2006. I was inspired by my move to the hilly countryside of the South Pennines. Sheep seemed to be precariously balanced on every surrounding hill as far as the eye could see. Then, one by one, they began to tumble down the hillside to their deaths. A pastoral nightmare...
